Welcome to the Reading Education Association!

Over 1225 members strong, REA serves as the voice of the teachers, librarians, instructional coaches, counselors, psychologists, and nurses in the Reading School District.  As the education professionals who work tirelessly to enhance and enrich the lives of the children of Reading, Pennsylvania, we possess the experience and expertise needed to allow us to serve as the authority on public education in the city.  Through collaboration, dedication, civil conversation, collective bargaining, and bold new initiatives, we will advocate honorably and vigorously for the best interests of our members and our students.
Trudi Westley serves as the Instructional and Professional Development (IPD) Officer for the Reading Education Association.  Trudi works with teachers and administrators alike to make sure that certification and licensure issues are addressed.  Trudi is also responsible for organizing REA presentations such as the recent visit to Reading from PSEA Special Education guru Bernie Miller.  Thanks for all you do, Trudi!
To promote the general welfare of educators and students; to protect the interests and defend the rights of our members; to foster professional zeal; to advance the educational atmosphere; and to promote professional relationships and respect between the Association, administration, and community.
